Radiotherapy for Pediatric Malignancies: An Experience from a Tertiary Cancer Centre

Background: Incidences of pediatric malignancies are increasing. In management various childhood like hematological, bone and soft tissue tumors radiotherapy plays a crucial role. RT treatment planning delivery poses challenge to clinicians. Hence with this study we wanted know the practices in our institution. Materials Methods: This was retrospective analyzing case records charts all who received radiation for period 3 years from January 2018 December 2021. Demographic details, toxicity details were carefully recorded. Results: Details 73 malignancy cases analyzed. Median age 10 majority males (66%). Commonest which ALL (30%), Brain (26%) (22%). Radiotherapy given as part radical intent including neo adjuvant, definitive, adjuvant prophylactic 92% patients. Conformal techniques form 3DCRT VMAT used (91%) cases. A significant proportion (27%) required anesthesia delivery. 16% patients had break common reasons being infections (COVID, respiratory) neutropenia. Grade or more acute toxicities observed 14% hematological most frequent. Conclusion: Hematological & requiring multimodality treatment. For services may be malignancies. Acute breaks concern these require properly coordinated supportive care during
